About

We review contemporary music, poetry and literature, and on occasion publish interviews. We also publish poetry (usually established poets only).

Music artists we’ve covered in the past include AC/DC, Ryan Adams, Lloyd Cole, Craig Finn, The Go-Betweens, John Hiatt, Lilly Hiatt, Paul Kelly, Alison Moyet, Elliott Murphy, Nerina Pallot, Graham Parker, Chuck Prophet, Kim Richey, Josh Rouse, Frank Sinatra and Bruce Springsteen.

Authors and poets we’ve written about include klipschutz, Mark Halliday, Jeremy Reed and John Williams.

We publish irregularly, not on certain days. We don’t post mp3s or videos.

Poetic Justice is a no trolling zone. We are pro-feminist, pro-LGBT and anti-racist.

Our approach to criticism

Our reviews aim to be well written, informative and with a sense of humour.

In a spirit of positivity, we generally prefer to write about what we like. For most reviews we don’t use a grading or star system.

WARNING: From time to time we may quote lyrics or poetry which contains offensive or “bad” language.

Submissions

For submissions, our email address is: submissions@poeticjusticemagazine.com.

We publish selected poetry by established poets most months, and you can submit all year round.

We also consider submissions of music writing; again you can submit all year round.

We’re a “non-profit” website so unfortunately we can’t pay you (as we don’t make any money). You will be acknowledged as the creator of your work and will retain copyright.

Legal

Facts are simple and facts are straight
Facts are lazy and facts are late
Facts all come with points of view
Facts don’t do what I want them to (Talking Heads, “Crosseyed and Painless”)

Reviews contain statements of opinion and not fact. However if you consider there is any inaccuracy, please contact us and we will endeavour to correct it.

We aim to credit photographers for their work if we know who took the photo.

All copyright is reserved and remains with relevant authors/poets/publishers.
